Reservation Policies

Reservations can be made up to 13 months in advance. Georgia residents may make reservations up to 14 months in advance.

Parking

A ParkPass is required for all vehicles. ParkPasses are not included in reservations fees and may be purchased at the Visitor Center at check-in. Overnight guests pay only one night parking fee for the duration of their stay. To buy an Annual ParkPass, visit any Georgia State Park office or buy a ParkPass online (please allow 7–10 business days for shipping).

  • 1–12 passenger vehicles: $5 per day or $50 annual ParkPass
  • 13–30 passenger vehicles: $30 per day or $75 annual ParkPass
  • 31 or more passenger vehicles: $70 per day or $250 annual ParkPass
  • Georgia active duty military/veterans: $3.75 per day or $37.50 annual ParkPass

No cleaning fees

Payment Policy

We will now require a 50% deposit to confirm a reservation for most overnight reservables with the remaining balance due at check-in if you book 15 days in advance. Reservations booked 14 days or less will require payment in full. Group camps, group lodges and all day use facilities will require a 1 night/day deposit at booking and balance collected at check-in.

Guests with reservation that still have a balance are welcome to pay these before arrival. Payments can be made using your online account or with the new RA Camping app available in the app store, as well as by phone or calling park offices. Thank you for staying with Georgia State Parks!

Cancellation Policies

Campsites, Pioneer Camps, Horse Stalls & Yurts

Reservations can be changed one time without penalty. Any additional changes will incur a $10 transfer fee. Cancellations made at least eight (8) days before arrival will incur a $10 cancellation fee. Cancellations made seven (7) or fewer days before arrival will result in a loss of 50% of the use fee. All fees incurred are per reservation. (Note: Visitors who have paid more than the minimum required will be refunded all but the required minimum deposit amount.)

Cottages and Cabins:

Reservations can be changed one time without penalty. Any additional changes will incur a $10 transfer fee. Cancellations made at least fifteen (15) days before the arrival date will incur a $10 cancellation fee. Cancellations made fourteen (14) or fewer days before the arrival date will result in a loss of 50% of the use fee. All fees incurred are per reservation. (Note: Visitors who have paid more than the minimum required will be refunded all but the required minimum deposit amount.)

Picnic Shelters/Group Shelters/Group Lodges:

Reservations can be changed one time without penalty. Any additional changes will incur a $10 transfer fee. Cancellations made at least thirty-one (31) days before the arrival date will incur a $10 cancellation fee. Any changes or cancellations made thirty (30) or fewer days before the arrival date result in a loss of one (1) day fee. All fees incurred are per reservation.

Group Camps:

Group Camps may be reserved up to two (2) years in advance. Cancellations made at least 181 days before arrival result in a $50 cancellation fee. Any cancellations made 180 or fewer days before the arrival date will result in a loss of 50% of the use fee. Reservations can be changed one time without penalty, provided a three (3)-month notice is given. Additional changes made more than three (3) months in advance will incur a $10 transfer fee. All fees incurred are per reservation.

No-Shows

An overnight reservation is considered a “No-Show” when it has not been checked in by noon on the day after the arrival date. Park staff should verify that the visitor is not onsite and attempt to contact the renter to determine whether the visitor is arriving later before marking the reservation as a “No-Show”. A reservation marked as “No-Show” will be treated as a cancellation and will forfeit 50% of the use fee. Once a reservation is marked as “No Show”, the reservation’s remaining days/nights are canceled, and the site is released in the system for new reservations to be made.


Campsites

Reservations

Reservations can be made up to 13 months in advance, online or by calling 1-800-864-7275. You must be at least 18 years of age to reserve a campsite.

Campsite Occupancy

To protect park resources, campsite occupancy is limited to one of the following combinations:

  • One motor home, two additional automobiles, and one tent
  • One automobile with pop-up trailer/travel trailer, one additional automobile, and one tent
  • One pickup truck with mounted camping rig, two additional automobiles, and one tent
  • Two tents and two automobiles
  • One boat trailer is also allowed at each site provided that the site is large enough

Campsites have a six-person occupancy limit, and tents must fit on designated tent pads. Tents erected off designated tent pads are subject to removal. Camping between designated sites is prohibited. When camping areas are filled to stated capacity, no other campers will be allowed. Camping is limited to 14 consecutive days at any one park. Visitors using a campsite for 14 nights must vacate the park for at least three nights before returning.

Campsite Check-In

Check-in is between 1 p.m. and 10 p.m. and check-out is before 12:00 p.m. Most park gates are locked at 10 p.m.


Cottages

Cottage Minimum Stay

Most parks require a two-night minimum with reservations booked in advance; however, some may accept walk-ins for one night. Shorter stays are allowed for reservations made less than 30 days in advance. A three-night minimum is required for Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Thanksgiving weekends. You must be at least 18 years of age to reserve a cottage.

Cottage Occupancy

Visitors occupying a cottage for 14 nights must vacate the park for at least three nights before returning. Cottages may not be used to accommodate more than their stated capacities.

Cottage Check-In

Check-in is between 4 and 10 p.m., and check-out is 11 a.m. Guests must pay the full balance of their reservation upon check-in. Both the reservation and deposit are forfeited if the guest does not check in by 10 p.m. on the scheduled arrival date. Most park gates are locked at 10 p.m. A late fee will be charged after 11 a.m. unless a check-out extension is permitted by the Park Office.


Group Shelters, Picnic Shelters & Group Lodges

Check-in time is 10:00 a.m. and check–out time is 9:45 p.m. Guests may pick up group shelter keys at the park office. You must be at least 18 years of age to reserve a shelter.

Security Deposit

Parks may require a security deposit at check-in. The deposit will be refunded if facilities are returned as they were received.


Pioneer Camps

Check-in time is 1:00 p.m. and check-out time is 1:00 p.m. You must be at least 18 years of age to reserve a pioneer campsite.


Yurts

Yurt Occupancy

Yurts are a six-person occupancy limit (yurts at High Falls have a five-person limit). Visitors occupying a yurt for 14 nights must vacate the park for at least three nights before returning. Yurts may not be used to accommodate more than their stated capacities.

Smoke-Free Facilities

Please be advised that smoking is prohibited in all enclosed facilities, including buildings owned, leased, or operated by the State or local governing authorities. This includes but is not limited to all lodge rooms & facilities, park cottages, group shelters, group lodges and group camps.
