Walk-in campsites are open for winter; however, the comfort station is closed. Walk-in campers may use the West Rim Campground comfort station.
Located on the western edge of Lookout Mountain, Cloudland Canyon is one of the largest and most scenic parks in the state. Home to thousand-foot deep canyons, sandstone cliffs, wild caves, waterfalls, cascading creeks, dense woodland and abundant wildlife, the park offers ample outdoor recreation opportunities. Hiking and mountain biking trails abound. The most popular hiking paths include the short Overlook Trail, strenuous Waterfalls Trail and moderate West Rim Loop Trail. Mountain biking is available at the newly developed Five Points Recreation Area and along the Cloudland Connector Trail. The park also includes an 18-hole disc golf course, wild caves available for touring during select months of the year, a fishing pond, trails for horseback riding, picnicking grounds and numerous interpretive programs, especially on weekends. Guests seeking an overnight experience can choose from fully-equipped and comfortable cottages, quirky yurts or several different types of camping and backpacking options. Georgia Girl Guides is a local guide service that offers hikes and family friendly cave tours. The park’s caving trips are perfect for groups and adventure seekers who want to get muddy, wet and experience a wild cave. Different tours are offered throughout the year. Help upkeep trails in the park, get your Saturday morning workout on, and become a "Trail Dude" or "Trail Dudette." Enjoy a 2-mile hike on one of the best trails at the park. You will learn interesting facts about the geology and history of the canyon. First Day Hike: Beyond the Canyons

Start the New Year out on the right foot: take a ranger-guided winter hike through a lesser known area of Cloudland Canyon State Park. We'll explore the Can't Hardly Trail and CCT corridor on a four-mile loop. Bring water, a brown bag lunch, wear sturdy shoes, and dress for cold weather. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service

Join us in "mulching the mountain" during this special volunteer day. Help beautify the park, increase visitor accessibility, and decrease stormwater runoff and erosion by transporting and spreading mulch around the day use area. Free park entry for volunteers. Orienteering 101 or Tie the Knot

The orienteering program occurs on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month and introduces you to map and compass reading - never get lost in the woods again! Waterfall Workout

Get your Saturday afternoon workout on and discover the park's wild waterfalls during this ranger-led hike. Learn about park hydrology and other natural features of the park while completing this strenuous hike. This two-mile out and back hike involves 1200 total stair steps and 750 feet of elevation gain.
